I entered a place full of cute and most popular animational figures. Food is leaned towards the most modern popular "want to have" typical but "too much work for in home" type of spices, including anything from plain to mala . They host all my preferred small bites snack options and huge menu of the eat out cravings. Thank you for sharing a picturesque scene and one of a kind poetry. It makes me smile and happy to be around.

Came here after seeing the reviews. Was pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was good. The flavor and price were good. It's a nice small hidden place in flushing. Each dish has its own different flavors. Service was good. I would come back here again

Food (5/5): We ordered Mao's braised pork and Hunan sliced beef. Wow, the food here was actually quite good. We came here because of the fun name but the food surprised us with the delicious quality. Service (4/5): Solid service where they seated us quick and got our food out. They had no issues with refilling drinks and getting utensils. Ambiance (5/5): Nicely decorated interior with Chinese rich vibe type decorations. Really liked the theming of this place.

TLDR: super cool, modern, fast service, good variety of food Went with a group of 3 for a Friday night out. There was plenty of seating and we were all quickly seated. The restaurant is clean, modern, with really cool art pieces all over the restaurant. During the order process, we ordered mao braised pork (sweet), and I ordered stir fried chicken with Szechuan peppers. I will note that when the waiter asked if we wanted salted or sweet maos braised pork he told our group of friends (who speak Chinese) that "white people prefer the sweet version"... I will say he was not wrong! Maos braised pork: sweet, seasoned well, could eat the whole bowl if I could. Stir fried chicken with Szechuan peppercorns: it was crispy and spicy as anyone would want. This unfortunately was not my favorite restaurant take on one of my favorite dishes. The stir fried chicken and peppercorns felt more greasy than I am used to having. Overall, I would go again but I would certainly try the other great things on the menu if I was around !

Downtown Flushing is chock full of Sichuan places now so the competition is fierce. Young & Rich tries to distinguish itself from the other establishments in its trendy decor rather than playing into the more classical Chinese decor but I think it works. Food here is really good IMO. The pig ears with shredded cucumbers were a great way to start the meal and the contrast in textures was great. Stir fried cauliflower was also well seasoned and cooked to perfection, highly recommended. The chili chicken was also perfect - hot, crispy with just the right seasoning and mala numbing spices. Portion sizes are a tad small but prices are reasonable. Location is a bit off the main track but still worth stopping by. Thumbs up.

We got the Chairman Mao braised pork belly, and hunan sliced beef. Pretty interesting aesthetic here, with the cats and dead mouse. Luckily they don't check your age or TC before you're seated here. The free appetizer of spicy mala pickled cabbage and nuts is really good. The sliced Hunan beef is transcendent. Like I've literally never had this level of juicy and tender beef. I almost thought this was wagyu beef. Wasn't too spicy at the regular level, and had a good mix of bean sprouts and thick glass noodles to soak up the broth. The chaiman mao braised pork belly was also really good. They have massive chunks of meat, and crunchy bok choy for fiber. Really juicy meat, maybe I'll try the sweet version later.

The food is really good, but the portions are a bit on the smaller size for some dishes, especially if you're getting a grilled fish. It was yummy to try though! Grilled Fish: we settled on the stripe bass ($50), and with 5 add ons, it was an additional $15. The flavor was pretty good, but for the price, you really don't get much. I thought the fish was especially on the smaller side, also quite salty, while I kinda had to play I spy with the toppings, it wasn't enough to go around. There's another place I prefer more for this dish that does a better job, and is better with the portions. Cold Dish Appetizer Sampler: I loved this one! It's perfect for first time visitors who have indecision but also want to try everything on the appetizers menu - this delivers exactly that. While again on the skimpier side, I enjoyed a majority of the samples here, and now know which ones I'm not particularly fond of (for example, I would skip the wasabi artic clams, it's very strong and doesn't need the wasabi and would do better with a different flavor). Presentation is beautiful too Stir Fry Gizzards: my favorite dish had to be this spicy and sour gizzards. The gizzards were a tiny bit on the hard side for chewing, but I didn't mind too much as it was so flavorful. I think they're pretty generous with the gizzards, and the pickled beans as well. Flavors are strong and so yummy. Not for the non-adventurous eaters though. There's no gamey or weird taste (to me, anyway), but textually, might not be everyone's cup of tea. I'd get this again :D Stir Fry Green Pepper Beef: the flavors are similar to the gizzards, but also even spicier. This was such a hit with the party! Too little beef though :(

I loved everything about this place really top tier From the kaws decor inside this restaurant to the food and the service . The manager that helped me pick out what i should try he was so nice and patient about it because we used a translator on the iPhone to help me communicate what to order. I initially saw this place on TikTok and i new i had to try it right away on my next day off. When i say the food was soo good i mean it. Top must haves are the ginger chicken with white rice and the stir fried beef dinner and esp the pork buns. I know i definitely have to go back again with some friends so they can also experience everything i know their or more thing i want to try on their menu when i get back and the price for everything was decent as well the portions they serve is hugeeeee so trust me when i say you will be full even when you don't want to stop eating lmao. I'm happy that i was able to packaged the rest to go and eat again later when i got home. If you are looking for a good experience and excellent food to try this must be your first stop . And if your looking to take some nice pictures next to kaws dolls it's a perfect place to make great content for your TikTok and instagrams pages . Enjoy and i will be back very soon

Lawd have mercy. Let me tell you that I was not prepared for the spiciest thing I've ever ate. My husband was like let's eat at young and rich just because of the name. It's steps from Hotel indigo. Husband said it was szechuan so I took his word for it. I even told him to pick something we haven't had before to share. Our waiter was very adamant about getting us to eat fried rice. Like I'm use to attempts at persuading me to get something that most white folks like.. but I can see why dude was pushing for fried rice..bahaha. I've wanted to try hunan for years. I know hunan spice hits different than Szechuan spice. I'm quite used to the szechuan spice but I was not prepared for the hunan spice! Got spicy and sour enoki mushrooms and beef. So good. I loved it but my body and soul was on fire. I tried playing it cool but my face and ears were red. I'm not exactly sure how to describe what I ate but dammit it was delicious. All spice definitely not sour.. Definitely would eat here again..and even though it felt like I was about to combust I would eat hunan again!!!
